On NAIDOC/Reconciliation Day in Kyogle, 19th June, Gugin Guddubba Local Aboriginal Land Council (GGLALC) and the Kyogle Community Economic Development Committee (KCEDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum commits both organisations to work together to give the local aboriginal community a stronger voice on economic development issues. The two organisations will also sponsor and implement projects, in partnership with other community groups, which provide expanded education, training and employment opportunities for members of the aboriginal community. An early potential project involves the upgrade of the Kyogle Community Radio facility and providing training and support to enable aboriginal staff to produce programs of particular interest to their community. “GGLALC sees this partnership as an effective way to get aboriginal peoples' views heard on a range of economic development issues” said Michael Davis, Chair GGLALC. “We are particularly excited about the …
